Following the spate of burglaries targeting Chinese families in Britain, I met with representatives from West Midlands police force to see what more could be done to reassure people.
In response to this, Jonathan Lander, Chinese Community Liaison Officer from West Midlands Police delivered a crime prevention presentation at Birmingham Chinese Community Centre, Bradford Street on Tuesday 3rd April for anyone that wanted advice or wanted to report a crime and he has been handing out Chinese language crime prevention leaflets for people to take home.
My online petition currently has over 700 responses from people across the country but my aim is to reach 2000 in order to make all police forces across the country to take more action and to get the Home Office to give our complaints greater priority.
I am pushing for more specific resources to support the community such as more translators and extra Chinese speaking police officers to help report crime, but I need your help.
Please can you take a short moment to fill out my survey to put pressure on the Home Office to support our community.
