After the initial block, Birmingham City Council’s Labour leadership pushed ahead with its controversial restructure of the SEND transport service. Transport firm ATG was handed a contract lifeline as part of the new arrangements. Alex continued to scrutinise the decision at every stage, arguing that the council was using a financial crisis of its own making as cover for cuts that would fall hardest on the most vulnerable children and their families.
