  • Chairman qualified Justice of the Peace performing judicial duties including deciding the merits of cases, evaluating evidence, witness credibility, making findings of fact, determining acquittal or guilt, sentencing, bail and making of orders in domestic, traffic and criminal proceedings.

  • School Governor for a large special needs academy school.

  • Acadamy Trust Governor for a large academy school chain.

  • Board member setting the direction and future of this regional business membership organisation.

Overseas Chinese Association- Birmingham & Chinese School (OCAS): Secretary            October 2008- 2018

  • OCAS Secretary promoting interests of the Birmingham Chinese community and businesses with a central role in Chinese cultural events.
  • Governor and auditor of a longstanding Birmingham Sunday Chinese school with over 800 students.

Kingsbury School & Sports College: Vice-Chair Governors. November 2007- 2015

  • Local Education Authority school governor, Vice-Chair from 2010- 2015.
  • Previously chair of the Personnel and Resources (financial oversight of the school) and disciplinary and policies subcommittees from 2010- 2015.
  • Lead member of the Governing body until it was academized.

Parliamentary Candidate, Birmingham Edgbaston. 2019 General Election.

  • Conservative party candidate for the Birmingham Edgbaston constituency.

Operation Black Vote Pathways to Success Leadership and Development Program 2019.

  • Led by Lord Simon Woolley, OBV, an accredited leadership program at Magdalen College School, Oxford University, to support the professional development of aspiring civic leaders.

  • Volunteer in Tanzania via ‘Project Urafiki’ 2018, volunteering with education and business programs supporting budding entrepreneurs giving training, advice through a certified course that we presented. Backed by CFID (Conservative Friends of International Development)
  • Volunteer in Rwanda ‘Project Umubano’ 2017, volunteering with CFID- business training for young adults.
  • Volunteered for three months in Ghana and Zambia 2005 distributing aid, teaching English in orphanages, working in local HIV hospital wards in very remote and impoverished areas.
  • Taught English in Shanghai China in a state secondary school 2004-2005.
